Maile and Nick’s wedding at the White Orchid Beach House in Maui was the perfect combination of romance, tropical beauty, and the relaxed elegance that makes a Hawaii destination wedding so special.

Located along the coastline of Mākena in South Maui, just beyond Wailea, White Orchid Beach House is one of those wedding venues that feels private and completely connected to the island. With the Pacific Ocean just steps away, an oceanfront lawn surrounded by tropical scenery, swaying palm trees, and beautiful Maui sunsets, it creates an incredible setting for an intimate celebration.

What I love about photographing the White Orchid Beach House is the variety of beautiful backgrounds within such an intimate space. Couples can exchange vows overlooking the ocean, celebrate with their closest family and friends on the lawn, and then step toward the beach for romantic portraits without having to leave the property.

The venue is especially beautiful later in the day, when the light begins to soften. As sunset approaches, the ocean takes on warmer tones and the entire coastline creates a dreamy backdrop. It is one of my favorite times to take newlyweds away for a few minutes of relaxed couple portraits by the water.

My approach to wedding photography is romantic, warm, natural, and story-driven. I focus on the big moments, but also on everything happening in between, the movement, emotions, details, family interactions, and quiet moments that make your wedding uniquely yours.
